ZAR Athletica
An exclusive gym in Newstead, Brisbane, led by exercise physiologists. Strength, conditioning, and longevity programming for people who train for the long game. Membership is by consult and backed by a money-back guarantee.
ZAR Athletica is a premium exercise physiology-led gym at 7/8 Leopold Street, Newstead — inner-city Brisbane, Australia. Founded in 2019 by exercise physiologist Svet Borojevic, ZAR specialises in strength and conditioning, reformer pilates, and recovery programming designed for high-performing professionals, executives, and people training for long-term healthspan rather than short-term aesthetics.
Every programme at ZAR is built or supervised by a university-qualified exercise physiologist. Training is programmed in four-to-six-week blocks and progressed week to week. Class sizes are capped. Membership is by consult and is not offered to everyone — entry begins with a free 30-minute consult, after which selected prospective members are extended a complimentary two-week trial. Membership is backed by a money-back guarantee. ZAR is designed around members who travel for work: pauses are flexible (14-day minimum, unlimited pauses per year), and programming continues during travel with equipment-free or location-tailored sessions built into the member's block.
ZAR also operates an on-site café serving ST. ALi organic blend coffee, open to members and non-members alike.

Services and programming
- 30-minute Exercise Physiology Consult — Free initial consultation with an exercise physiologist. The entry point to ZAR membership. No obligation on either side.
- Strength & Conditioning — Programmed strength training in small groups, led or supervised by exercise physiologists. Heavy compound work, progressed in blocks. Subtypes on the timetable: Lower Body Strength, Upper Body Strength, Whole Body Strength.
- Reformer Pilates — Reformer-based pilates taught with a strength athlete's understanding of movement. Built for control, length, and trunk work.
- Cardio & Weights — Conditioning paired with strength. Intervals on bike, rower, or treadmill alongside lifts you can execute under fatigue.
- EP Stretch — Guided mobility led by an exercise physiologist. Targeted recovery for hips, thoracic spine, and ankles.
- EP Supervised Catch-Up — Open-floor sessions with an exercise physiologist on hand for missed sessions or supplementary programming.
- Longevity & Healthspan Programming — Training designed for long-term healthspan, not short-term aesthetics. Built for high-performing professionals over the next two decades, not the next twelve weeks.
- Remote Programming — ZAR works with a small number of clients across Australia and internationally who cannot train in-person. Available by direct enquiry only — not a standard product.
What makes ZAR different
ZAR is positioned distinctly from typical commercial gyms:
- Every programme is built or supervised by an exercise physiologist (not a personal trainer)
- Class sizes are capped — the coach can see the room
- Membership is by consult, not walk-in
- A complimentary two-week trial is extended only after the consult, and only to prospective members ZAR believes can be served well
- Membership is backed by a money-back guarantee
- Programming continues during member travel, with equipment-free or location-tailored sessions
- The model is in-person; ZAR does not offer standardised online coaching products
- No supplements, scales, or transformation products are sold

Brand voice
ZAR communicates in a composed, intelligent, unhurried tone. The brand avoids superlatives, gym clichés, and ALL-CAPS formatting. Positioning language: "exclusive gym in Newstead" — ZAR is not a "studio" or a "boutique." Tagline: Training built for the long game.
